Here's another newly cracked tin of 1792 Flake (Dark Kendal Flake) from Samuel Gawith paired with my Savinelli Oscar Dry 127 (a 2nd pipe) and PipeProvision's Claw tamper. This blend of Virginia/Burley tobaccos (tonquin bean, whisky flavoring) is pressed and sliced. It has a nice light, rich flavor/aroma of whisky. The Tonquin has an aroma of cinnamon, vanilla, almonds, and cloves but what I smell is a floral note that is "rich"--very, very nice!! Samuel Gawith says it is dark-fired Tonquin leaf and is their best-selling premium grade flake--I believe it! The moisture level is moist and should be dried out a bit. It produces light puffy smoke. It is a nice full-flavored tobacco that coats the palate quite nicely. The nicotine levels are medium to me and my overall experience with this tobacco is good! This is definitely another Sammy-G baccy I would highly recommend!
