My order of Esoterica Stonehaven arrived in the mail and I was excited becuase it has received high praise from my fellow IG pipers (thanks for the tip @liltoast!). I brought this 8oz. bag of baccy with me on the trip to Illinois to attend my mother-in-law's funeral. She was 73 years old when she passed on the 6th of December. She would have celebrated her 74th birthday on the 31st of December.
This tobacco is comprised of air-cured leaf and Burley with selected dark Virginias that is pressed and cut. It is a moist baccy which should be dried out a little or expect a few relights. I get some floral aromas out of the bag which reminds me of Samuel Gawith's Kendall Cream. The tobacco rubs out nicely and after the first light, I get a nice peppery and saltiness on the palate with light puffy smoke. The room note has a burning wood/campfire-like aroma which is not bad. The nicotine level is medium and my overall impression is that it's a keeper! Nice relaxing smoke for sure :)
Pauline was my smoking buddy when I used to smoke cigarettes...this bowl was smoked for her. She will be missed...may she rest in peace!
